Ways to Serve This Month

A Special Presentation from Pastor Ben, Kirk Symposium, Fair Trade Christmas Gifts, ESL Coordinator, Josie's Hot Cocoa Stand, Cooking at Christ House

Following Sunday's 11:15 a.m. service, Associate Pastor and Director of Social Justice Ministries Rev. Ben Roberts hosted a talk in the Foundry Sanctuary. Pastor Ben offered an inside look at Foundry's social justice programs, and shared some of our goals for 2022. To learn more about how your gifts have supported this important work, and how we will use them next year and beyond, watch a video of the conversation with Pastor Ben .

To learn more about the Prepare the Table with Justice and Joy campaign, view our 2021 Stewardship Booklet or watch our 2021 Stewardship video. You can also submit your 2022 Estimate of Giving here.

Since she was in first grade, Josie Martin has been hosting an annual hot cocoa stand in her neighborhood. She uses the funds from the sale of her hot cocoa to support our unhoused neighbors and Foundry's I.D. Ministry. To join us in supporting Josie's efforts this year, visit her stand in person on Dec. 4 from  visit her Facebook page and make a donation!

SUPPORT JOSIE'S HOT COCOA STAND
Foundry is once again providing you a virtual opportunity to support social and racial justice — and buy some great Christmas gifts — by purchasing fairly traded coffee, chocolate, and more. Foundry members Chris Matthews and Margie McKelvey will take your orders through November 18, and will deliver your purchases by early December. Visit foundryumc.org/fair-trade to learn more.

Christ House is one of the few dedicated medical spaces in the District for unhoused men. Foundry's been working with Christ House for more than 30 years. During the more strict periods of COVID protocols, we had to put meal preparation at Christ House on hold. But now Christ House is ready to receive fully-vaccinated, masked volunteers. Our team would be no more than three volunteers per-session for the near future. If you'd like to help out, join the group or email Pastor Ben.

Foundry needs a volunteer to act as our ESL program coordinator. It's rewarding work with no experience necessary. If you’d like to help, email Pastor Ben Roberts at  or Jackie Wright at
