All Things Foundry February 28-March 6, 2022
Ash Wednesday | The Roots of Resistance | Hybrid Worship service at 8 a.m. and 7 p.m.
The season of Lent provides a time for us to consider where we are on the path of Discipleship and in our relationship with God. In order to know where we are, we need to understand the guideposts along the way. What guiding principles and practices provide a firm foundation and guardrails along dangerous and uncertain paths? At Foundry, we practice biblically rooted sacred resistance, a way of being and acting that is engaged with and for the world God loves.

As we journey through Lent, the scriptural texts will illumine some contours and commitments of sacred resistance, touching on topics like taking risks, keeping perspective, and working for a common good. Join us as we are nourished and called to sacred resistance that is deeply rooted in the resources of our faith and in the grace and mercy of our God!

Ash Wednesday is on March 2. Join us in person and online at 8 a.m. or 7 p.m.as we enter the Lenten season together.

Foundry’s Sacred Resistance ministry team invites you to join the virtual Washington Interfaith Network 2022 Election Season Action on Sunday, March 20 at 3 p.m. The meeting will be held via Zoom, and an agenda built by listening to vulnerable neighbors on issues of displacement, affordable housing, safety, climate, and careers will be presented to candidates for DC Mayor, Council Chair, Attorney General and Council-Members. Whether you are a DC resident or not, we invite you to learn more and push for change through this unique opportunity to stand together in faithful public witness for a more just future. Our goal is for 300 Foundry members and friends to join us!

Discipleship in the Methodist tradition affirms that there is always more work for God to do in the human heart. A Disciple's Heart attempts to reclaim and, in a sense, reinterpret for today John Wesley’s understanding of this transformation of the heart, which he called “Christian perfection,” with the goal of equipping participants to continue to grow into the likeness of God’s love in Christ. This course will be taught both Sunday mornings and Thursday evenings beginning in late April.
