Dear Foundry family,

The wonderful Advent season is upon us and I am in awe of how God continues to enliven and bless Foundry Church. By God’s grace and the faithful servant leadership of so many, we continue to connect and re-connect, worship and study, advocate and serve, in beautiful and life-changing ways.

At this time of year, we have the opportunity to contribute to Foundry’s annual Advent/Christmas Appeal.

Funds collected are directed in two ways. This year, I’m excited to share that a percentage of our appeal will be given in support of a new resource under development by the Reconciling Ministries Network. RMN is creating an Intersectionality Vacation Bible School.

This VBS will include both Children’s and Adult Learning Sessions whose purpose is to invite faith communities into a deeper understanding of intersectional justice as a means for creating more peace-filled, holistic communities. It also provides an opportunity and materials to facilitate intergenerational dialogue.

The proposal states, “As our Church becomes increasingly diverse, many United Methodists seek an accessible opportunity to learn about faith and intersectionality. This Curriculum will be a multimedia resource intended to serve whole congregations, children’s ministries, and other small groups from a variety of theological perspectives.” Our support will help fund the curriculum writing process.

The balance of funds from the appeal will support Foundry’s commitment to respond to the needs and challenges of our community and congregation and to fulfill our mission: Love God. Love each other. Change the world. Our hope is to end 2022 financially strong.

As your pastor, one of the most important responsibilities I hold is caring for the health and vitality of the historic and impactful institution that is Foundry. This responsibility includes that I regularly invite your sustaining support financially. I hope you will be generous in your support of our 2022 Advent/Christmas Appeal. Every gift truly makes a difference.

You can help us meet our goal of $35,000 by making your gift by mail or by visiting our GIVE page before December 31. A gift to Foundry’s Advent/Christmas Appeal is a concrete way to live your faith and contribute toward our goal of changing the world for the better.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow. And thanks to YOU, Foundry Beloveds, for your faithful and generous support.

Advent Blessings and Merry Christmas,

Ginger E. Gaines-Cirelli
