Rev. Dr. Kelly L. Grimes

Rev. Dr. Kelly L. Grimes was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. She is a 2003 graduate of Georgia State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Religious Studies.

During her time in Atlanta, Pastor Kelly served as the chaplain assistant at Clark Atlanta University, where she started a university-wide Bible study and monitored other Bible studies on campus.

In May 2009, she graduated from the Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C. with a Master of Divinity degree. During her seminary time, she also served as the Youth Minister at Asbury UMC in Washington D.C.

In addition to excellence in scholarship — which earned her a full scholarship for the entirety of her time at Wesley — she offered leadership as the Vice President of Student Council and on the Student Board of the Washington Theological Consortium.

Rev. Grimes became the Associate Pastor at Westminster United Methodist Church in Westminster, MD in August 2009. During her time at Westminster UMC, she led confirmation classes, participates in hospital/home visitations, elderly dwelling visitations, has taught church wide bible study, as well as preaching, and led the A! Factory! after-school program for the middle school students in the community.

Kelly was appointed as the Associate Pastor to the Epworth United Methodist Chapel in Baltimore County in 2011, where she focused on age-level ministries; small group ministries and studies; social media; and Christian Education leadership in addition to visitations; and preaching and caring for the members of Epworth Chapel and Baltimore County community.

In May 2014, she, became an Elder in Full Connection in the Baltimore-Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church.

In 2019, Rev. Grimes received her Doctor of Ministry degree from Wesley Theological seminary cohort at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom with a concentration in pastoral care in the Wesleyan tradition.

Kelly began her appointment as the Associate Pastor and Director of Hospitality and Congregational Care here at Foundry United Methodist Church in July 2019. Kelly’s passions continue to be her love of God and God’s people, and sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ in the community and in the world.

When she’s not at Foundry, you can find Pastor Kelly playing tennis, running, traveling, or practicing her French. She is also a proud active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., an international service sorority.
