Weaving Connections Workshop with Aliana Grace Bailey

SUNDAY | AUGUST 21, 2022

Workshop participants will be introduced to the spiritual foundation of the artist Aliana Grace Bailey’s artmaking process, experience the basics of weaving, and explore themes of togetherness. Drawing inspiration from prompts, conversations, and various colors and textures, participants will contribute to a collaborative weaving on a loom.

Aliana Grace Bailey is a returning artist to Foundry. She helped to facilitate the painted community banners in 2018 with The Sanctuaries. This workshop is in collaboration with DC Public Library and Black Artist Research Space. On view at MLK Library through August 28, Aliana is a featured artist in the exhibition All Together, a convening of contemporary Black women artists.
